Default OilCooler pipe and inner seals changed, Low oil pressure. Help?

Good morning.

Started the oil cooler overhaul job yesterday evening(finished at 0530 this morning) A pretty straight forward job after bolt nr #1 came loose.

I changed all the seals, pipe and cleaned up everything very carefully. Put ti back together, new Castrol Edge 05-30 (from the dealer) new filter and coolant.

There is no leaks anymore from what i can see so that is all good.

But.. The "Low oil pressure" lights comes on when i start driving or reving it in neutral. From the sound of the engine is definetly got oil pressure without a doubt. I drove it home from the garage and it seems fine.

Does anyone ever experienced this? The oil pressure sensor on the oil cooler is connected..

Are there other oil pressure sensors located near the cooler that might have come of without me knowing?

I also discovered this(see pic below) in the airfilter box. anyone know what this is?

Did you have the low oil pressure warning before you carried out the overhaul, and changed the oil?

The component in the lower air cleaner is the secondary air injection pump.

I understand it's not on in idle?? That seems a bit strange maybe connection becomes loose with more vibration at higher rpm. I would not drive in any case with warning on without checking oil pressure first.

Thanks for the info about the "turbo" in the airfilterbox

The car has never reported low oil pressure before, I have done som testing today, and the warming indicator comes when i hit 1750 rpm. it will not go away before i restart the car.

When i fired her today it was freezing outsiide and there was no "noise" before the lifters are filled with oil(like u may get with old oil) so she def is getting oil around the engine.

Right now i'm thinking that the sensor on the oilcooler housing has just died due to age and the touch of a man...

Anyone know if the S8 has a low and high oil pressure sensor or is it only the one?

Can oil pressure be measured in vag-com?

Thanks for all your help.
