AUDI AMI UNIT Complete with cables instructions etc.
Audi AMI Module suitable for D3 A8 Audi
As a result of the sale (trade in) of my 2007 D3 A8  I have the AMI module connection cable and IPod connection lead for sale. (Car went to trade in so I removed it prior to sale)Before listing this on Ebay I thought I would give the first dabs to forum members. This was purchased directly from Audi UK for the car at a total cost of £260 including the two leads required to connect and use an Ipod, invoice available for inspection. I am looking for £190 plus postage/delivery if required. They are £200 on the bay from what I can see without the leads to connect them! This comes with comprehensive Audi installation instructions (in various languages  ) the optical splitter lead to connect to the cars system, the lead to connect to the IPod and the removal keys for the CD unit etc.This is a very simple installation and I did this without taking the glove-box apart. You need to remove the cubby and the CD unit to gain access. Power lead is already there and the optical leads just need the connector (splitter) fitting to the cd optical lead to add the unit to the system. My MMI recognised the unit but you may need to update the software. I may also have copies of the Audi MMI upgrade CDs x3 for the last version (I think its 5570) can include if I can find them with instructions how to use although this has been covered well in topics on the forum too. can post pictures and part numbers if required but the unit is unmarked and perfect condition. can you plug a hard drive in with this cable ect ? .....as i have a 12 disc changer i think i have the cables in place for ami and i would like it

if it hasnt got a USB AMI lead Guy then I've got a set of leads for AMI that will include the USB

no I think its just the module that talks to the system but you can plug any USB stick (ahem like a nice audi one. . . ) in with music on and it will work fine, not sure about video too but I would have thought that would work too

would be nice if the video works too
but as long as its a usb input then i guess i can plug any hard drive in as long as its elf powered from usb ? or just a solid state 100gb thumb drive i guess ?

yep any usb hard drive would work I would have thought, elf powered or normal powered!

It'll be an easy plug and play for you guy. 5 mins tops as long as your MMI firmware is recent enough.
No video on 2G systems though, just audio, but its still well worth having USB stick, Solid state drive, external hard disk etc are all fine. It has an 'ipod' ish size pull out try to pop your media on, so a very small external drive or USB stick works well...

very good .. i shall have that then. i can always sell my 6 cd changer as i wont be needing it anymore with the ami then. £90 for a cd changer ? no idea what they are worth on ebay they are from 125 right to £245 shocking lol
