With the Annual Meet complete, my thoughts Turn to the pilgrimage to Germany. This year If anyone wants to, there may be a possibility to visit the Audi museum and the Nurburgring.
I'm not going to arrange this, as I announced at the Annual meet, my organising days are over, but I will publish my research and personal schedule, hotels etc and you're all welcome to join me, Darren and Neil on the trip. Here is my outline plan. Thu 8 Aug - B&B in Dover Fri 9Aug - Early ferry, drive to Edersee. Sat 10 / Sun 11 Aug - A8 Fruende's event. Sun 11 - Drive to Audi Museum or Factory. Mon 12 - Tour factory or museum. Tue 13 - Drive to Nurburgring for evening open laps. Wed 14 - Disperse back to UK. :-) CtL

Hi Mike,
I will definitely join for the Fri-Sun, but will make my own way over to Adenau/Nurburg on Sunday am. I would much rather get some running in on the Sunday pm and Monday evening rather than trekking south to Ingolstadt. I did have a look at the ferries and P&O this year are rather expensive, we could perhaps use DFDS to Dunkirk as cheaper alternative. Have you booked your hotels yet? I will make a booking later today if yes. |

My reading of Ben Lovejoy's site is the the ring is only open in the morning of that weekend and evening runs only during the following week. I might, if its evening runs only, go the previous week, do the museum first then meet up at the green hell and have an evening run or 2 then on to Edersee.

The track is not open on Wed 6th - Fri 9th at all.
For the weekend it opens from 1pm - 7pm both Sat 10th & Sun 11th. For the following week, it is open from Mon 12th - Fri 16th for roughly 2 hours each evening. Roger that. If it's open all Sunday pm the that sounds like a plan. Go Sunday Morning, ring, hotel, Monday Ringwerks and an evening run? Hotel and move on Tuesday?

Sorry guys, much as I'd love to come, I'll be going round the 'ring three weeks earlier, and your August dates still seem to clash with the German classics show in the North West.
However... if either of these things change, then I might change my mind... |
