Default Would you tune your motor?

As the title says would you consider tuning your vehicle for
  • More power
  • More fuel economy
  • Would consider it if I chould choose between them at my will

With the 3.0 TDI, Shark do a unit..

The 4.0 and 4.2 TDI are a lot more complex with 2 ECUs, and essentially 2 seperate 4-cylinder engines bolted together.

Do I get to vote as I had mine mapped

Mine was mapped when I bought it, but the only difference I noticed between this and my last (unmapped) S8 was perhaps a slightly quicker pick up of power at the low end, so I'm not totally convinced that a remap is worth the money

As if I would lol

Mine is definitely faster after the map, and MPG seems similar, or a touch better, but mine was forced on me by the DPF failure.

From my understanding of tuning, the easiest gains are to be had from forced induction engines, like turbo diesel's / petrols or supercharged motor's.

There is gains to be had from NA engines but they are smaller and harder to find.

All you tend to get from an N/A engine is a smoother curve and maybe a few more horses if it's tuned to your car, but you'll probably do better by spending the money on better brakes or tyres.

Totally agree with you there, but I'm good in the anchor department.

(> ponies) = (> fun) but < £
