Default Multiple Faults including transmission

having run VCDS for the first time since February (when it was faultless), I have a number of fault codes some of which are a bit worrying:
The main issue is:
Address 02: Auto Trans Labels: 01L-927-156.lbl
Part No: 4D0 927 156 EC
Component: AG5 01L 4.2l5V RdW 1010
Coding: 00101
Shop #: WSC 02314
VCID: 6ED8DF392A5A996E79B-5102

3 Faults Found:
18232 - Pressure Control Valve 3 (N217)
P1824 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
18227 - Pressure Control Valve 2 (N216)
P1819 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
18222 - Pressure Control Valve 1 (N215)
P1814 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
I checked against RossTech Wiki and it points towards "checking connectors for corrosion or water damage, in case of 01V transmission pay special attention to 16-pin connector between valve body and wiring harness".

Other faults (apart from the alarm horn - longstanding and a rear parking sensor) are:

Address 15: Airbags Labels: 4D0-959-655-AI8.lbl
Part No: 4D0 959 655 T
Component: Airbag Front+Kopf 5001
Coding: 01417
Shop #: WSC 02313
VCID: 438E5E8D51584406C65-5102

1 Fault Found:
00532 - Supply Voltage B+
07-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 17: Instruments Labels: 4D0-919-033-MYX.lbl
Part No: 4D0 919 931 PX
Component: KOMBI+WEGFAHRS.VDO D42
Coding: 00483
Shop #: WSC 00048
VCID: 902421C1D0AE6F9E8B7-5102
WAUZZZ4D43N001316 AUZ7Z0A2019945

1 Fault Found:
00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30
53-10 - Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent

Wiki says that if multiple control modules are affected it could be a common source such as battery.

Appreciate any comments/suggestions here - especially with the transmission faults.

Is the tranny module not under the carpets on these cars and as they are known for getting you feet wet thats where I would be looking first.

Its funny you should say that but a few hours before we had an absolute monsoon of rain. I'll go and check.

From memory I think it's in the ECU box under the bonnet, tucked away under the engine ECU. Andrew will know as he's been ferreting in that area in the past looking for evidence of leaks.

Is the valve body loom accessible without removing the sump from the box? I know there's a plug for the F125 switch but not sure how many others are on the outside of the box. If it's driving fine it does suggest it's probably just gremlins in the machine/a small electrical fault from the wet winter we've had. I'd clear and see if they return before worrying too much.

Airbag is probably a dodgy connection too

The car was left for two months whilst I was away Feb/mar and though my son started it and moved it, the battery was flat on one occasion - probably from the passnger door microswitch which sometines keeps the lights on. The car and transmission are working fine but i havent used it in the last few days and it did rain V Hard this afternoon with a repeat performance right now. On checking the carpets the pax side is ok but the driver's side is slightly wet.... But the ECUs arent on that side .The scuttle drains are working quite well given the amount of water that has fallen as well as the build up of pollen/petal and green stuff which I meant to clear last weekend!

Indeed, though I don't recall the order, only that on PF D2 (RHD) the cruise control module is right at the bottom.

I'll clear the codes and take it out for a run, then and see what happens. and also check the drains

Well, the first thing i did was pull the plug to F125 and inspect it. It all seemed dry and no corrosion. Checked the scuttle drains and cleared out debris (its spring and the car was covered with blossom and pollen and the scuttles were too). There was no build of water in the scuttle but it wasnt flowing as freely as it should so brushed /vacuumed all the crap out till free flowing.
I removed the ECU cover and all was dry and OK in there with the exception of an indication of slight water ingress in the back right hand corner where there was a dirty but dry "smear" . What was noticeable on closer inspection was a tremendous build up of leaf debris at the back where the lugs on the cover engage with the case. There is an "upstand" in that area just perfect for catching debris and trapping it against the joint! Its obviously be doing that for years judging by the white deposits on the plastic. So, carefully vacuumed that up, greased the seal and put the cover back on.

Cleared all codes now and will take the car out soon for a run and then scan again. Hopefully all will be good. Fingers crossed.

I had a lot of build up in there too David, although all wet. It's easier to remove when the scuttle panel is off.

Hopefully it's just a few gremlins after being sat for a while damp. Good run with the aircon on will help dry out the inside.
