This MMI was in my Audi A8 when I bought it in November last year. It wasn't until I needed to change a flat tyre a few months later that I realised I need to put the car into 'jacking mode' which basically protects the air suspension.

Well the jacking mode option is in the 'car' menu and when I pressed the 'car' button on the MMI nothing happened. After a bit of research mainly on forum.a8parts.co.uk it turned out my options were to try and repair the unit (apparently a liquid spillage on them can cause them to fail) by removing the module, taking it apart and cleaning the board or replace the module.

I tried option 1 to no avail, after thoroughly cleaning the unit and replacing it there was no change so I ended up buying a replacement off A8 Parts for £400.00 (over £750 new off Audi) which when fitted the 'car' button worked straight away.

I have read that these can be repaired with some fancy soldering and a bit of know-how - unfortunately I have the solder but not the know-how!
