Default London/SE/SW train to Annual Meet

So, as this is my first time attending Annual Meet, will confirm it tomorrow 100%, I'd like to know who will be traveling from SE, SW and London area.

Are you guys usually meet somewhere on the M25 and then heading together up North??
How does this work usually??

I'm thinking about leaving on Friday, early morning-6am, is that reasonable??
I don't fancy driving all the way on my own.

There's mention of routes and meet -up points on page 25 (and others) of the Annual Meet main thread.

Cheers David
Just looked at it and it looks like Ollie is the only one so far leaving more less same time and from similar location.

How about you guys: Neil, Oli, Dezzy??? So far that's the only people I managed to locate down this end.
Neil, are you leaving on Thursday and staying overnight in Scotland??

It will more likely be a little bus instead of a train....

Yeah I was planning to leave from Chelmsford, Essex at approx 8am and take a steady drive up stopping for a couple of coffees on the way and a stretch of the legs.

Yes I think both Dezzy and myself are going up at lunchtime on Thursday and staying overnight in the central belt etc ready to go onwards on the Friday
Not sure about Oli?

I don't know when we'll be leaving, but it won't be 5am this time! More like 10am Friday at a guess as I'll be down the pub on Thursday night.
Straight onto M40 at J2, then M42, M6 toll, M6 etc. etc. stopping at Annandale Water over the border for a proper break, maybe Tebay for brunch/coffee?
Probably hit Glasgow for the Friday hometime clag!

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions and extended leather. Ski hatch retrofit. Aftermarket reversing camera. DVB-T and XCarlink now removed as redundant.
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

On the 'trip through Glasgow' note..

If your Satnav is more than a year or two old, you won't have the new M74 extension on it. The M74 now goes all the way through Glasgow and makes a huge difference to rush hour traffic, so you'd stay on that until it joins the M8 on the south side of Glasgow.

Yes i'm going up Thursday that way leaving from Portsmouth rather than driving back to Devon first and then up North. Maybe a big convoy back on the Sunday though.

Hope your all better behaved than when I went to ADI, met up with a few of the chaps in the morning for breakfast before the show, then on route the lead cars were charging down the dual carriageway in the ****ing rain at 80-90.

There was so much water spray I could hardly see and was desperately trying to keep up as I didn't know where I was going.

You know who you are
