Default Tablet computer dash install

I saw similar installs on youtube so thought I'd give it a go.

That looks a neat job - what size of tablet is that and what holds it in place when in use?

A friend has done a full iPad install into his B5 RS4 which is really nice too.

And it will be better than standard navigation

Take broken RNS-D, remove insides and use it is structural frame. Create custom made fascia with the same external dimensions and there we go. I would also check what tablet has best diagnostics software in it.

Do we have Vag-Com/VCDS for iPad or for Android?

Apple iPad Mini in-dash install from Benz guys:

I think there must be a way to hook up rear view camera too.

there are several apps that you can hook up that give similar diagnostics as vcds, hook up a bluetooth adapter from ebay and your away.

RS4 install mentioned above:

Configured as:

The iPad connects to the headunit which is in the glove box, and one iPhone connects via bluetooth to the head unit too.
The iPad is also connected to the wifi OBD II unit for live diagnostics and live logging.
It is also connected to the other iPhone on a local area network for full browsing capabilities.
The iPad is also connected to a mifi for use with the TomTom app.
This means everything is connected to everything else, so usual bluetooth parrot connection to the head unit etc.
Both iPhones and iPad are also all on charge all the time they are plugged into their respective docks.

iPhones both have integrated docking stations under the armrest and the buttons removed from the centre console are repositioned there too.

Dash Command from the App store covers the in vehicle essentials - all the work of The Chippy on Audi Addicts

Depends on what you want from it in a D3.. You can get some android jobs with AV out and put a remote keyboard/mouse in.

Beyond that it's a very custom mount, as you need the main screen for everything else in the car.

It's a nexus 7.
This is not the final fix, still a little bit of tinkering needed.
Next job is to hook it up to the speaker system.

The install looks pretty good.. You'll probably need to fit an amp in there to drive the speakers though.
