Default Stupid stuff in car ads

I thought I'd kick off a little thread having read this little gem in an add for a Triumph Spitfire...

"Reg number is HOP222L which is quite unique"

Er, isn't that the whole point of a registration number?

...and thats before you get started on "quite unique"! It is either unique or its not. Compare " a little bit pregnant".
Ah, the grumpy old men strike again. Move over Statler and Waldorf.

"First to see will buy..."
"Fully loaded..."
"Super rare £999,999 hi-fi upgrade..."
"A1 condition but no MOT..."

How about including real examples:

"Final Edition": http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-S8-4-...item3f446310ba. Er, nope!

And here's the "unique registration" Triumph Spitfire ad: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Sp...item20f411f2c9

I hate lists of features that have been standard on most cars for decades such as...
ABS, rear head restraints, front head restraints, electric mirrors, rear heated screen. etc...
yet important features are not listed.

Can we mention stupid stuff said by potential buyers?

When I was selling our previous Mini, clearly highlighted in the advert as an automatic, the 'first to see' didn't buy because:

1. "Oh, it's an automatic, I wanted a manual"
2. "There's not much legroom in the back" - at which point I was not able to hold my tongue any longer, and responded with something along the lines of "It's a freakin' MINI"

The second to see did buy it

Don't get me started...

I'm currently hunting RS6's, so here's some of the crap I have to sift through:

"Carbon ceramic brakes" - In the title of all places.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi.../rs6?logcode=p

No, it hasn't.....

"THIS IS NUMBER 343 WHICH WE BELIEVE IS THE LAST ONE REGISTERED IN BRITAIN!! "

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-60-AU...item1e94711e39

Really ? Number 470 is currently for sale, and 469 was for sale for the past two weeks. Then there was number 403 before xmas etc...

Last week there was the 'Fastest RS6 in the country' For sale with no evidence at all of how this is apparently true.....

<sigh>

"previously sold", "doctor owned" "lady owner" always puzzle me
