Does anyone know if it's possible to programme the mirrors to fold upon locking/unlocking of the car?

Yep, I'd like mine to do this too.
Also It would be great if the N/S mirror, which angles down when you engage reverse, resumed normal position so you can see through the darned thing when you pull off. As it is it waits until you reach door locking speed. Which matters when you've parked on the right hand side of a road ![]()

Must be D3 thing then. My D2 returns as soon as I take it out of reverse. And if you park on right hand side you could disable autodip.

Can't you control that on a D3?
![]() On D2 dipping is optional and can be either side, controlled by the mirror fold switch in the drivers door. I often don't dip it when reversing, though on D2 I'm sure it raises as soon as you change out of reverse.

Ooooh, dunno.
![]() I'm 100% sure my PF S8 did that because I used it a fair bit parking on the right, I did have it 11 years! Don't think I've ever tried on this (FL) one..... Maybe it depended what bits got put in by the factory? Edit: Just checked. My FL S8 only ever dips the passenger one. The guy who had my PF S8 before me mostly drove it around Europe (for work) and he bought it from Audi where it had been a "special" for the UK motor show so maybe he or Audi added that function? Or my memory is failing.........

I'm sure we discussed this subject over a year ago as I wanted exactly same thing but the only solution at that time was involving quiet a lot of wiring and few relays plus some other bits if I remember well.
BUT, this wasn't attempted so far so it's not proven as working solution Good starting point would be a email to technical support of Ross-Tech, if possible they would know it is poss and how. But, something tells me that this may not be possible. I've realized that recently when parked on the right hand side of the road, I folded mirrors manually, then I moaned about not having auto folding function, my mate (passenger) opened the door and almost had door taken off by the passing car. Then it strike me - Health and Safety !?!?!? This could be a reason why Audi decided to not provide this function because of possible cause of accident - car hitting the door, going off the road (shock) and killing someone ???? No idea, but it was close only because he couldn't see anything I agree, left mirror could raise instantly after getting of the R gear instead of raising it manually by moving knob to neutral position

I agree it is dangerous to get out with folded mirrors, so stopped using them after a few times, but it is more dangerous that you have to fold them while in the car rather than with the remote when locking the car.

Passenger side mirror is the only one that dips down.
I'd like the driver side to do it as well when in the drive position on the switch. Folding when locking would be very good and save me from having to remember to fold them up when leaving. I tend to forget, jump back in the car, start it and then fold the mirrors. I'm not that bothered by them not coming back to normal position right away, I just turn the mirror switch.
