Default Sunroof Cover/ Shade

Gents,

For some odd reason when sliding my electric sunroof back into place the pull shade remains in the roof and does not get pulled back fully so I can access the handle.

Its there and can be pulled back with some swearing but it seems like a clip/ bracket/ stop may of broken.

So right now with the sunroof closed no part of the cover can be seen its 2 to 3 inches inside the roof still

Any ideas?

What colour is your rooflining? I've got a spare one from a solar sunroof I bought to go in mine. Both clips intact but obviously depends on colour. Can put a pic up when I get a chance

yes there are clips at the front, mine is a solar roof though so not sure if they are all the same, there is also a pin/clip arrangement towards the rear so that when you tilt the sunroof the cover moves up as well

Pretty sure the standard metal roof and solar roof have the same undertray clips.

they are the same part - only glass sunroof is different.

Here's some pics of my spare in case it helps ID what's missing:

They're very easy to remove - open sunroof a bit, release clips at front, put tape over the exposed fittings to stop them clipping back in, tilt roof up and withdraw panel through the gap - it just slides out.

Mind you mine was removed with the whole sunroof installation out of the car!

A picture does indeed paint a thousand words not sure those are big enough though Adrian

It is a bit trickier removing it while everything is in place, ended up removing the glass in mine anyway to repair a broken bit of the mechanism at the back and it was much easier, not by me of course but by fellow forum members who were very helpful, not least the Laird for providing use of his drive and break time beers

when I took mine out to get a replacement one in alcantara it was certainly easier for two people to do it from both sides of the car

No idea why they've come up so large - added them as attachments and pasted the links into the post!

I usually shrink any pics before posting Adrian (use PIXresizer), modern cameras/phones seem to create monster size pics, now where did I put that 126 Instamatic.....
