Default D3 S8 Quest

Started looking for a nice D3 S8, after deciding to give up trying to find that elusive 'perfect' D2! (gutted I missed Jayzee's!) So been doing a bit of research, but not a great deal out there, guess they're not that old enough yet...

My budget is looking like an '07 is probably the newest I can afford, but was wondering whether it would be worth pushing a bit higher and going for an '08. Am I right in thinking an 08 is the facelift model? Or did that come on a 58 plate? What did the facelift model gain apart from the different wheels?

Also, although my immediate reaction is to not touch a car with ceramic brakes, as I definitely don't need them and the cost of replacement parts would give me sleepless nights, can anyone advise what the reality is? Are they as Audi states good for 4 times the service life of steel discs?

Any other advice on what to look out for would be really appreciated. Must haves are B&O, ACC and carbon interior trim

Thanks!

D3 S8s are very thin on the ground at the moment; much more so than last year.

There are only three coming up in the dealer network. Last year it was consistently 10-12. The ones on Autotrader/PH have been sitting around for a while. They are generally very leggy and pre-FL.

I suspect the reason is that those who have them at the moment don't want to take a huge bath that getting rid of them would result in. Better, I would guess, to hang on and run them into the ground.
