Is this effectively the same as a Parrot bluetooth thingy, or does it integrate better than that? Now, if it clicked into the phone prep cradle and allowed a bluetooth phone to use the whole in-built microphone and speaker system, that would be interesting. And is it D3 specific?

Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .
Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

Very good questions and ones that technically can be answered more knowledgeably by somebody other than by myself.

My D3 had the Motorola prep phone, I thought I could easily replace and I couldn't so it never got used, it connects using the gen2 cradle I believe, and my understanding is then that this has remote access to your sim contacts, uses your phone to dial from the mmi, and then yes uses the car speaker and mike.

Pretty sure this needs the D3 MMI kit with the changeable cradle and not the D2.
