Hello guys

After studying IT for 8 years (2 Diplomas as a result of it), but not working in this industry anymore, I still do rebuilds just for a pure....don't know....joy, as a hobby, it just kind of stays in your blood I think.

So decided to post here my recent rebuilds I've done (and still doing) purely because for forum members I've included ETKA and ElsaWin software.

At the minute I've got 2 fully refurbished PCs, 3rd one to come during next week, but could also rebuild some lower specs Dells (755s or GX620) to suite your budgets, it may require few extra days.

First quick spec and then I will quickly explain what rebuild involves and how tower will be shipped to assure it arrives undamaged, and insured, for a piece of mind.

Specs

DELL Optiplex 755
Dual OS (Operating System). Official DELL Win XP and Win 7, each on a separate drive for extra convenience
- Win XP (Dell) Service Pack 3, 32bit, all drivers installed from urgent to recommended.
- Win 7 (Dell) Service Pack 1, 32bit, fully updated (every single update) up to 11/05/2014 inc. all up to date drivers.
Both OS come with AVG Free AntiVirus Software (best on the market in my opinion, second choice would be Avast)
Also, Office 2007 inc. Word, Excel, Outlook, Info Path, Access, Power Point, Publisher, Visio Viewer, all extras and shared features inc. Office Tools
Adobe Reader 11, EASeus Partition Master and Back Up software, both freeware, Partition Master is the best free partition software on the market for all the drive related needs, free CD/DVD burning software and Google Chrome.
No unnecessary software for optimum performance.

BIOS configured for performance as well.

Full virus scan on the end to check for ANY threats as internet connection was used during all the installs and you never know when and where threat is.

ElsaWin & ETKA is installed on Windows XP partition ONLY, as I like to keep Audi related stuff on XP and use it for that purpose only, but web browsing and all other stuff still available on XP OS



Actual Spec on a Optiplex 755 base:
- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, E4700 @ 2.60GHz (dual core)
- 3GB RAM memory
- 500GB storage, 2x 250GB Hard Drives @ 7200rmps
- Independent Graphic Card ATI Radeon HP 2400 Pro with 256MB (card has a DVI connector, but if you have a monitor with a VGA connector only then a VGA to DVI adapter can be used, I should have few spare)
- ASUS Wireless (WiFi) card 150mb/s (standard RJ45 connection on board, both active)
- CD and DVD writer (DVD Rom)
- 2x USB at the front and 6x at the back.







Rebuild.
Rebuild involves a complete strip down of almost all the components.
Whole tower is properly hoovered, no compressed air to just push the dust around.
Dust can cause power problems (it actually did few weeks ago on my tower)
Any one who isn't really familiar with PC would be shocked how much dust gets into the PCs.

CPU (processor) is taken out, cleaned with 99.9% isoproyl alcohol, new thermal paste is applied.
Heat sink at the same time is properly hoovered and cleaned with same alcohol.
Deep clean of the CPU fan as well plus good clean to PSU.

All hard drives are restored to original state by blanking process, writing zeros across the hole drive. Not just a format, but deep wipe out of all the previous data. Where usually you can restore data even after format and new OS install, you can't do the same after this process.
All done using DBAN software.
Good clean from outside as well.

Deep clean was the 1st thing so expect some tiny amount of dust already as afterwards they were run for hours during all the software install.








Shipping
Tower will be shipped via UPS Next Day.
It will be insured for the total cost of the tower (£100)
Shipping cost is £25 which includes £10 for 2x 450x600mm sheets of polystyrene 50mm (2'') thick.
Tower will have a 50mm polystyrene ''shield'' around it.
I will stick 3 labels on each of 6 sides (big Handle with care/Fragile label, HEAVY!!! and 15kg)

If any one needs just a basic station, lower specs, I could do a 755 or GX620 Dell with ETKA and ElsaWin on XP only, 2GB ram memory, 320GB hard drive (2x 160GB 7200rpm's drives), still dual core CPU, not Core 2 Duo put Pentium D for example, always from a Intel family.
Cost something like 50quid but shipping will stay the same 25quid, possibly 22.50 because of lower compensation level.

Just to answer some questions
The 50pounds version is not what I've got ready, it's what I can do if you need a workshop/garage pc with elsa and etka on it so when you do the bits around the car you don't have to go home.each time if you have them on a desktop pc.
But it isn't just for that. It still will be a good pc for Web browsing etc. It will be configured same.way as the 100quid one, just not as powerful that's why xp would be best for it as xp works well with 2gb ram but win7 not as much, still works but won't cope well if you Web browsing with 20+ tabs open as I always do.

If you are happy to pay another shipping cost on top.of it, around.7pounds, I will supply you with power cord, keyboard and mouse free of.charge with any tower. It has to be second parcel coś towers are square and best way to.protect it is to cover each side with 50mm of polystyrene and no.other bits attached so they don't get damaged if someone will place the parcel up.side down and put 15kg on top of the mouse and keyboard

Quick update.

Few sold already, 2 more available with 500GB storage plus I will have another 3 towers, Optiplex 745/755 with 320GB storage, but I will upgrade RAM to 4GB.

I also will have 4.1 Elsa tomorrow which is compatible with all OS inc. 32 & 64bit versions AND (I never looked into it properly, but...) I finally managed to get ETKA 7.3 working on Win 7 32bit and 64bit.

So instead of having dual OS tower I may install everything under Win 7, but I can configure it whichever way you want.
