Default Who can unlock TV in motion?

Can anyone here unlock my TV in motion function or recommend someone in Scotland who can?

I have a few customers at work with vagcom software but when I ask the answer isn't 'yes'
It is instead 'I'll have a go at it'

I understand once you change it you can't change it back so I'd like someone who knows what they're doing to get it right first time.

Its very easy and if you print the blurb from the following link you cant go wrong.

step 10 is what really allows video in motion because its very unlikely that you will travel over 255 MPH

so if you want it re enabled you would do it again and adjust to a low speed like 10mph

http://www.audi-resource.com/mmi2g_vimcode.php

you will need the serial number, which can be found in a vcds scan

I dont think you can do it on the D2 without disabling the speed pulse into the satnav, and this will make the satnav inefficient as it will not update as often as before because it will be using only periodic samples from the GPS aerial instead of a mixture of the two.

You can get aftermarket cables that plug into the back of the RNS-D with an on/off switch for the speed pulse to overcome the problem.

So in a nutshell, it needs to be a hardware and not software solution.

Are we talking about the D2 RNS-D, to allow TV/video playback while moving?

Just cut the speed signal to the unit.

I fitted a switch on mine, but you can just cut it. The speed signal allows the sat nav to estimate distance travelled when satellite reception is lost, I believe, but unless you spend a lot of time driving through long tunnels, you'll notice no difference. The switch I fitted is almost always off and my sat nav still works perfectly well.

Yep, that's how mine's done - an in-line switch. Simples!

I've never noticed any impact on the sat nav.

The inline switch mentioned has often been put into the dash as an additional dash switch to match the others. I know Oli had his set up as a latching relay so that each push of the switch cycled from on to off then back to on again etc

Mine isn't actually connected at present, but I've used that blank space to the right of the steering column which neatly fits a PF style switch.

For the switch I've used a push-on/push-off one (can't recall which that is, maybe the hazard switch?) but swapped the top cap for the rear blind one which looks more appropriate.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Thanks guys. I previously thought it had to be coded out with vagcom.

Any idea which wire I have to chop & wire a switch into?
