Interestingly the menu appears for setting the clock etc but nothing else.

Have you turned the trip computer off with the button under the right hand stalk?

After owning three D2s I have never even realised that was there

100% correct I had pressed that button on the stalk and turned it off.

Well today I have learned something new.
