I wonder what the best car would be to tackle that? Something rear drive, not too powerful (don't want to kill m yself by going off the edge! Perhaps, despite my loathing to say it, an....MX5 ()

As for the bucket list, I would love to drive the Alaska highway up from Vancouver right to the north of Alaska. For that I would want something really powerful and supremely comfortable - perhaps a V12tdi Q7?

rear drive and not too powerful? Humbug.....something a8 shaped and not too powerful (say......a nice 2.8) would be quite good, not fast enough to plummet to my death and lovely and comfy for the drive too and from....who'd want to be in an MX5 all the way from blighty to stelvio and back?!?!!? NOT I!

ZOMFG!!!! Awesome!

Would love to do that one and Chauchescu's folly (sp?). I reckon the D3 and a D2 S8 could eat that lot up no problem. I'm stuffed for hols this year though and I don't plan on obtaining any buckets soon (other than maybe 2 for the car cleaning), I could maybe fight for next year.

Though, doing some of the roads up North (proper Scotland North, where they're heard of mobile phone signals and want none of that witchcraft) last longer though aren't maybe as challenging per mile.

Last year went through Switzerland (did the San Bernard one) and loved every minute:

To busy driving to take decent photo's as had to get to Florence pronto.

A8 is fantastic for this kind of journey (2 adults, 2 kids - both as big as me plus enough luggage for all of us for 10 days - easy)
