Default 3.7 40V throttle body cleaning

When I start my 3.7 40V from cold, as soon as the engine catches the RPM drops to almost zero effectively causing the car to almost stall before rising and settling straight away at just over 1K RPM before dropping back to 750 RPM as the engine starts to warm up. Although I can work around this by applying a little throttle whilst turning the key I would like to fix the problem.

I have read about throttle body cleaning, and found a thread which involved cleaning the electrical gubbins inside the body.

Couple of questions.

1) Where on the engine is the throttle body, perhaps some has a picture which they can highlight it.
2) Can I DIY clean it, perhaps on the electrical and mechanical side.

Although not a major issue, its quiet annoying when you forget to apply a little throttle.

Once running the engine is smooth, the RPM is stable and does not jump around. The problem is only at startup.
