Default Creaks and groaning suspension

My 8 QS has developed a rather loud creak and groaning noise when turning left only, but not all the time.

Yesterday I drove down a rather awkward multistory with steep ramps, and after leaving the car was creaking really badly on left turns. Having left the car overnight and driven round local roads today its pretty quiet and better but still doing it occasionally.

There is no pull to either side, and apart from the noise it seems ok, I'll proberbly end up leaving it for now but would be handy to know peoples thoughts.

Either dry ball joint or de-laminated rubber bushing. My bet would be dry track rod end ball joint.

Thought I would update this,

After a few weeks of silent motoring the creaks and groans have returned, the sound only occurs when turning the wheel, driving in a straight line all is well with no creaks and groans. So today following advice I found on the internet elsewhere, I checked the power steering fluid level and its right down on the minimum. I am popping out later to buy some as a top up to see if that makes things better again.

Did not realise that G002 000 fluid is so expensive, but fluid is now topped up.

the old fluid looks pretty tired if I'm honest and is a horrid colour. Looks like it could benefit from a full flush through, but thats for another time.

Expensive? It was about £6 for 1l and £8 for 1.5l when I bought some from dealer earlier this year

Sadly the dealer is not open on a Sunday, so I got stuck with a visit to the infamous Halfords who then tried to sell me the wrong fluid which was red in colour. After trawling through all the various types of PAS and ATF on sale, I located the correct one for the A8 and for the privilege of buying there was relieved of £14.99 for a litre. I just did not want to drive back to Dorset with low PAS fluid, having discovered it this morning.

Unsure at the moment Amar,

its been ok for a few days, but last time it was weeks between the incidents. I'll check the fluid levels again at the weekend, see if its dropped which I truly hope it has not.

Change the fluid and clean the filter, PDQ! Mine went completely and the replacement pump was very expensive - it'll make the oil seem like a free sample!

I cleaned the filter before adding the topup.

The old fluid is very dirty, I'll add it to my to do list.

1) replace front crankshaft oil seal
2) flush / renew PAS fluid
3) replace instrument cluster.
