Default Front brake pads and discs

Front brakes have been a little poor of late and also getting a squeal from the front pads.

Had a look today and I have a nice 3 to 4mm lip on the outside edge of the front discs so its time for new discs and pads I think.

The problem I have is there seems to be a difference on what various web sites are telling me to get 280mm, 323mm 328mm etc discs.

All I would like is a good like for like replacement, no need for upgrades.

Could anyone confirm the actual parts for discs and pads on a 2002 D2 FL 3.7 Quattro Sport?

Could do with knowing which PR code is applicable - should be one of 1LJ, 1LX, 1ZL and can then confirm. I know mine's running Brembo calipers so is 1ZL but mine's an S8

1LX relates to the Girling brake setup which is 323x30mm

Part number for OE discs is 4d0615301j if you want to ebay browse for OE

Pads vary by VIN and I'm being dragged out the house so will quote later

All replaced but the pads are squealing like an informant.

Plenty of copper slip and new Pagid discs put on also, though the brand of the pads that turned up were not Pagid and not top quality.

I will try to bed them in some more but my gut feeling is this is cheap pads and I should of known better?

Any other thoughts?

Yikes! Pagid? Euro Car Parts I presume? Chinese made (except real top end stuff still made in Germany). Best avoided these days.

I've quoted prices from Murrays Direct in the past for S8 bits from reputable manufacturers (Febi-bilstein, Brembo and Zimmermann)

http://www.murraysdirect.co.uk/ best to ring as their web site is awful!

Did they have the peel off sticky sticker bit on the pads? And they do only go in one way as there is a slight taper on one corner of the pad (genuine)

As stated before i'm quite happy to supply parts through TPS but you'll have to pay delivery or pick it up.

Also worth ringing A8Parts as they will supply new service parts, might include brake parts, and they'd probably get a better price for delivery.

No sticky pads on the back and no taper on the pad.

Its just damn annoying, I will be replacing with a better flavour shortly. I notice on eBay there are some OEM Audi Genuine pads for £60 so may just get them.

Default Squealing brakes

Have another go with the copper slip.....make sure u apply at points where metal contacts metal....that is the trick....not lots of copper slip....just where the metal parts make contact....

I m sure the pads u have are good enough.....
