Default 3.0 tdi startup rattle

Hi all , first i would like to say thanks for helping me with my other problems iv had. So thank you.

Now down to business, iv got a rattle when i start the car up. It lasts about 3-5 seconds, iv been told that the 2.5s are known to snap there oil pump drive shaft?. Are 3.0 TDIs knows for this. AFAIK there not.

It does this noise when its cold or if it has been turned off for a while, ie, oil drains oil of something? Just a guess.

Anyone have experience of this, any help will be appreciated.

Ill try n get a video up tomorrow so you can here it.

Thanks guys.

Matty

Mine does that too-according to my friendly master tech it is the timing chain tensioner, and is normal behaviour. There is an updated version which is supposedly quieter.
