Default What's missing from here?

I noticed there are 3 Biro-width holders to the left of the glovebox lid when open.

What should be there? And don't say 3 Biros.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

3 Bics!

Yes, I think they're for ball point pens.

That's what I've always used mine for.

I've always got 2 or 3 pens in there.

The challenging bit, unless you've got really long arms, is getting a pen back in there while you're stopped at the lights with your seatbelt still on. They're clearly designed with passengers and/or LHD vehicles in mind.

Seriously? They are for pens? How thoughtful. I was joking when I said that.

My guess would have been for some small but handy tools, similar to the fuse removal one you get.

I'm off to WHSmith to get 3 of their finest writing instruments.... and some cake.

Cool

I also keep a tyre pressure gauge, and one of those extendy magnetic pick-up-bolt-dropped-down-back-of-engine things in there...

These are my pen of choice:

http://www.tigerpens.co.uk/zebra-j-r...-7mm-tip/p1277

They fit well into the clips and are quite nice to write with.

As for the cake, make mine carrot or chocolate.

Speaking of the glovebox, does anyone use the coin holder?

Not the best design in the world IMO....When you slam the glovebox closed, the coins are ejected -- jackpot fashion -- onto the passenger's feet.

I've got a screwdriver/multi-tool in one of my pen slots. Digressing slightly, is there anything which can smooth and ease the action of the glovebox opening at all? I press the button on mine which only pops it open by about 5mm so I have to pull it down to open.
