Default D3 Rear Boot Lights

Just bought the D3 and of the jobs to do is the rear lights.

The ones on the boot have gone matt and cracked, therefore need to be replaced.

Car is a 2003 D3, so anyone have a set I could have for reasonable money that are in good and shiny condition?

Quick question, was there any change on FL cars for the lights? By this I mean do I need to be careful on years when grabbing spare ones?

I can confirm this idea at a later date for you but they look like standard footwell lights out of other Audis.

If they are, I got 2 from my A4 you're welcome to if you want.

Or the red lights from the car if you wanted to get some mood lighting on the car.

Rear lights were the same fit across all D3s.

Actually I have spent some time doing the old homework this morning (Like I should of done in the first place!) and in 2008 they were updated as the light cluster is slightly different.

You can get a full set for about 100 pounds now there cheap its the face lift ones that hold there money and could set you back 6 or 700 for a full set.

Mine were matt too and dull ..
Solution was G3 compound and a mop set to 1500 rpm

Came up quite well

I took the rear brake lights off yesterday as one was a little wet inside.

Cooked it a little to dry it all out with great results

Noticed that the plastic cup that holds the outer part of the light in place had partly broken. Annoying as hell as it's a real fuss to get them back in place and lined up without it. Had to use a combination of an extra washer and turning one of the fixed/ nuts around.

But my god the most annoying process is getting the lights back in and trying not to drop washers/ nuts inside the car as you will never get them out!

Two nuts lost
