engine/autobox issues

So I've had my d2 S8 for a couple months now have driven many autos but never v8 and just wondering if when D selected and sitting at traffic lights etc with foot on brake it sounds like the auto box is still trying to pull hard revs drop a bit but when I come off the brake it shoots forward instead of gently... Also when stoppee on hills I'm used to an auto box being able to stoppeehold it's position but this just wants to move all the time.

Is this normal behaviour?
