New to this

Hi chaps I'm new to all this but what is vagcom and vcds ? I have tried to do a secret screen ( setup & car ) but nothing happens, I would like to have the come home lights set,my mmi has no phone and can it all be upgraded the version is d3-hu 6300 07.7.0 0406 as I would like the 3D mapping thanks
