Is there a set procedure for aligning the boot panel correctly rear quarter panels (even left/right height etc), and/or is it even possible to change the fine-tuning of bootlid alignment ?
The scenario is one side is slightly low and other slightly high. you can see this at the top, mostly where the bootlid reaches up towards the rear screen, but also on the lowest part of the bootlid where it meets the rear bumper. One side approx 3-4mm higher than the other. |

I have exactly the same problem so would be interested to know whether this is possible on a D3 also.
I pressed the boot release button in the car so a passenger could get something out the boot, the mechanical lid takes waaaay too long to fully open (you press the button, can switch the car off, unbuckle seat belt, open the door, get out, close the door and walk to back to the boot to find its still opening), and they obviously agreed with this because they lifted it while it was doing its thing opening, thus forcing the mechanics to run faster as usual. Now it sits slightly higher on the driver's side ![]()

On the D3 isn't it an issue with the electric close boot? Can't recall if it's hinge or mechanism related but think it's quite common?

Motor can fail, but so can the hinge mechanism which can give that kind of problem.
