As it is the third anniversary of owning my 8, I was looking at the mileage covered and the cost of ownership. In the three years I have covered 30,610 miles. I do not use it for daily commuting but do use it for getting around the country on business and pleasure - as far apart as Portland to Thurso. I have done over 7 trips to the South of England in that time. So it comes out as an average annual mileage of 10,203. Over the life of the car its an average of 8,226. (The Laird, as previous owner, put around 30k on it in 18months!).
In the three years I have spent £3,333 on servicing, repairs, parts, 4x summer tyres, MoTs and a set of winter wheel and tyres. The major repair items have been control arms and track rod end changes. So its £1111 per year. Now, I dont think that thats bad at all considering that the winter wheels and tyres are a bit of a one-off item.
I would expect (hope) that depreciation is less than £1k pa

given the price I paid and what its now worth .... ?
I didnt want to think about fuel costs and no doubt The Laird, with the spreadsheet to end all spreadsheets regarding fuel/price/mileage and use, will be able to provide a figure us as a cost per 1000miles.
