Default Rear fuse holder terminal size?

Does anybody know the terminal size of the rear "media" fuse holder, are they 2.8mm or 4.8mm? I have 2 spare fuse slots and wish to power/fuse some devices I'm adding. The terminals from the busbar are present but not the other side. The fuse holder is 4F0941824F.

Also, can I use this ground point? Or use a ground from one of the media modules (tv/amp/radio??)

Thanks.

Went to TPS this morning and bought one of each to see which fitted, and can confirm that the fuse holder takes 4.8mm terminals. From my first picture you can see that the 4.8mm is a twin crocodile terminal. The terminal is secured in the fuse holder by the purple lock, which is easily moved by a flat screwdriver.

For reference here are all the part numbers of repair wire and bare terminals for crimping that fit.

Repair Wire:
000979023 4.8mm terminal with 0.5mm wire
000979135 4.8mm terminal with 1.0mm wire
000979227 4.8mm terminal with 2.5mm wire
000979306 4.8mm terminal with 4.0mm wire

Bare terminals
N90732603 4.8mm terminal for 1.0mm wire
N90732703 4.8mm terminal for 2.5mm wire
N90696603 4.8mm terminal for 4.0mm wire
N90422102 4.8mm terminal for 6.0mm wire

Cheers chap. What is the part number of the 4.8mm? It doesn't seem to be on the list. I will definitely get some for my RVC retrofit.

Hi Snap,

They all are the 4.8mm terminal size that will fit in the fuse holder. But there's a different part number depending on the gauge of wire.

I've edited my post now to give it a bit more clarity.

Do you know where you'll pick up negative/ground for your RVC retrofit?

There is a pin on a connector in the boot lid for the camera, for the opener rubber handle I think. There is one on the back of the cigar lighter I used for the control module IIRC. I just temporary wired in the original audi camera and it worked straightaway. The 6 chinese ones didn't work at all in this application. Now I need to buy a new strip, handle etc with the camera aperture and have it painted

I'm gearing up for over a year now for a full AFS retrofit which includes rewiring headlights, adding xenon range module, fuses etc. And I was stuck until I found this chart which I have posted some times ago.

And this is what I have got at the minute, but today or tomorrow I am going to Audi again, but this time for some male terminals for my mates new audio upgrade inc. headunit.

Believe or not, you probably will knowing Audi, but below you looking at just under £50 or even £60 worth of terminals, that is mainly coz Audi for some of them chage just over 50p for one.

If you don't have an Audi or TPS close to you, then this guys are your answer, I found them two days ago while I was looking for a crimping tool for these terminals which I just found out are called JPT, Junior Power Times.

Guys from Poland with terminals. Upgraded Priority International postage will cost you something like £4 in total, so if you buying a whole selection then it works out cheaper than Audi.

And this is the tool designed just for them terminals, with any other crimping tool it's just a pain

Thanks Marcin, it's good that you're back

I did have an ETKA pdf of all the pins, plugs and sockets somewhere on a computer of mine, but can't locate that file...

So these web references came in very useful.

When the side panel trim left side of boot is off, where the cigar lighter point was there is a big earth point.

Thats what I used on mine.

As for doing it in the boot lid, I have to disagree with Snap as its not a guaranteed earth as its a moving part and the earth resistance is likely to change.
