No, those are the facelift versions on eBay. Very different if you are familiar with them.

The originals are the ones to have, the centres are rare as rocking-horse poo!

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Remember how the Murple's mangled gearbox was missing its sump magnets?

I found one of them stuck to the torsen diff

I've dismantled the tail section of the dead gearbox to fit the casing to the PF's gearbox in order to solve the broken brackets, so this bit will get cleaned up and swapped over.

I don't claim to know anything about the inside of the gearbox , question is how do you think in made its way in there ,then final question is was there normally 2 sump magnets and if so were do you think the second ones gone

Further investigation has revealed that there is a slot in the casing for a magnet in the rear diff housing so I suspect that the magnet fell out of the slot while I've been moving around the dismantled bits of the gearbox, and it stuck to the nearest steel thing which was the torsen diff. The three from the ATF sump are still missing.

Certainly whoever 'rebuilt' the murple gearbox never bothered opening the rear casing or replacing the bearings as they are very loose.

The torsen housing coming off the PF box:

Nice clean torsen. You can see the slot for the magnet directly at the bottom of the casing. The magnet is still in place in this one.

PF end housing on the left, murple housing on the right. You can see the two bosses on the right hand one which have been broken off the left hand one.

320k mile never-opened casing with bearings and spur gears removed.

100k mile probably-opened casing with the bearings still in place. These will all be swapped in to the murple's casing and reassembled.

What's the hall effect sensor and sensor ring on the Torsen diff for? Not Speedo is it?

Output speed measurement by the TCU, to make sure that input rpm and gear selection are giving the expected result.

When the gearbox fails and throws a 'gear ratio incorrect' code, its the reading from this sensor that allows the TCU to determine that something is wrong in the clutch packs.
