This is a continuation of my 'red lights come on' thread.
Finally got the fault code and it is "P0758 Shifter Solenoid B: Electrical" We have problems here in Bulgaria with Pine Martens nibbling wires. Is this possible in this case? Could low ATF levels cause this? Still a bit baffled by this, but car is doing it 100% of the time now! Last edited by Simon Wallwork; 10th August 2021 at 07:33 PM. |

Thats either a TCU hardware fault per the discussion in the other thread, or a wiring issue (nibbled or corroded). I've seen it several times now and its never been an actual solenoid problem - its always something outside the gearbox. ATF can't cause those sorts of faults.

Thanks MikkiJayne. I shall investigate further.

I should add that after the very competent guy drove the car, with his OBD attached he said "no pressure".

I've had a look under the car, and there's no sign of damaged wiring.
Does anybody- MikkiJayne possibly??- have a TCU they could sell me? 4D0 927 156 BN is the number on the case. |

However it’s from a PF car and I think the code ends in BG but not certain. If this would work on your car let me know and I’ll dig it out and check
