Default A8 reliability

Just surfing about found this ...

http://www.anusedcar.com/index.php/t...e/2012-2-3/305

Scroll down ... A8 is more reliable than the VW Golf That's based on the A8 covering 40% more miles as well.

Wow ... bit of an interesting gem. Also look how the reliability has improved over the years.

I'm not surprised after the association with Chrysler.

I can't imagine what they were thinking, yes let's merge with Chrysler they know how to save on costs ... LOL...

Survey seems to cover cars of all ages though, which is confusing.

Gearbox issues aside, based purely on what I read on these forums, D2 seems to be a fair bit more reliable, and simple to work on of course, than the D3, which seems to have a number of issues on here, commonly electrical, suspension and water ingress.

We don't have enough D4s on the forum yet to see if they are holding up better, I am hoping they will as it's one of the cars on my 'next' list.

I'm not surprised to see Boxster/Caymans so far up list, mine was exceptionally well engineered and never missed a single beat
