I thought I'd kick off a little thread having read this little gem in an add for a Triumph Spitfire...
"Reg number is HOP222L which is quite unique" Er, isn't that the whole point of a registration number? ![]()

...and thats before you get started on "quite unique"! It is either unique or its not. Compare " a little bit pregnant".
Ah, the grumpy old men strike again. Move over Statler and Waldorf. ![]()

How about including real examples:
"Final Edition": http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-S8-4-...item3f446310ba. Er, nope! And here's the "unique registration" Triumph Spitfire ad: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Sp...item20f411f2c9

I hate lists of features that have been standard on most cars for decades such as...
ABS, rear head restraints, front head restraints, electric mirrors, rear heated screen. etc... yet important features are not listed. |

Can we mention stupid stuff said by potential buyers?
When I was selling our previous Mini, clearly highlighted in the advert as an automatic, the 'first to see' didn't buy because: 1. "Oh, it's an automatic, I wanted a manual" 2. "There's not much legroom in the back" - at which point I was not able to hold my tongue any longer, and responded with something along the lines of "It's a freakin' MINI" The second to see did buy it ![]() |
