A8 d3 rear n/s indicator lamp (early version)
Hi.
Does anyone have a rear n/s indicator lens for sale for a 2006 d3? I believe the pt no is 4e0 945 095C. I have gone down the route of replacing ALL LEDs (5v straw hat type) ….but, they only lasted a couple of weeks? It’s the 30 yellow leds that seem to be the issue. Thanks…

It's more about current not so much about voltage.
On mine it was the red ones that were blowing out. First try they lasted about 3 weeks without any extra resistors and without checking current, 2nd time with extra resistors that were lying around to bring current down a little bit above replacement LED rating lasted 5 months during colder winter time. 3rd time over the summer after buying resistors to get current to be just under rating they were fine 8 months later when I sold the car. I also replaced some amber LEDs for indicator without checking current or resistors and they were fine. I guess because they are rarely on and only for short periods of time it does not matter that much if they are a bit over rated current. So I guess yours might be either way over rated current or just bad quality. Here is the thread I discussed my journey http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7833

Only couple of LEDs were out for indicator, I got replacements on eBay, the link is no longer valid and I do not have part numbers. I did not have any issues with them after replacing so did not look into not further details for indicators. For the tail/brake lights most of LEDs had failed so I was replacing them all at the same time every time. I ended up replacing existing 3x 4.7ohm resistors on one of red LED PCBs with 22ohm. I used SP123WJ0220T1E but you may need different ones depending on LEDs you are using. I also updated the other thread I linked previously.
