Hi guys, I'm a 41yr old Dutchy who bought an '02 2.8 recently. The car is blue on blue (LY5X WB) and I want to replace the interior for Recaro's. Although I was tempted by A8 parts for a few options I stumbled on a beige set here in the Netherlands and bought it immediately since it was a good offer.
So I guess the door panels will not match the current dashboard and I was wondering if a replacement of the complete dash is doable. I'm technically myself and have a VAG dealer mechanic doing the maintenance of most of my cars. Furthermore, the alarm light relays is broken. Is it behind the triangle, does anyone know? I can't find it above the relays box at the passenger side. |

Its possible - just complicated and time consuming. The dash shell itself should come out on its own, leaving the rebar, heater, wiring etc still in place but its a long time since I took one to bits. There will be wiring for the climate control sunlight sensor, the lighting for the heater vents, etc attached to the dash itself so be careful with those. The centre console will have to come out too, which usually means taking the rear centre trim off (round the handbrake) too.

Thanks!
Maybe a job for the riainey Sunday afternoon then. I will start with the seats, it may be a reasonable combination with the dark blue interior. And I'm not sure what parts I need for a complete interior overhaul yet. |
