Light smoke
HI
When I park after the drive (30miles) I can see light smoke coming from the side of the engine where the oil cap is, it looks like from underneath a pipe/hose which runs on the side along the engine block. Light smoke like when oil is dripping on hot pipe. I might make some pictures if needed. A8 D3 2003 3.7 petrol Anybody knows what to look for?? just an update...
smoke started being sucked by the polen filter and entering cabin...sometimes annoying especial when breaking and turning right when the oil get pushed on the left side of the engine. not noticable when the AC is on for some reason. took it to the garage... aparently rockercover gasket... but that needs to be confirmed so car is booked in and mechanic will look at it from the underneath. oil is apparently dripping on the manifold and thats why is burning light sticky smoke,,however there is not oil leak underneath of the engine

Update no.2
Car left at the garage this morning.(finally) They going to replace camshaft seal (what is causing oil to drip on the exhaust system and producing oil-burning smell) plus rocker-cover gasket. So next update is going to be a happy update.

So garage replaced rockercover gasket and camsahft seal....well they replaced rockercover but not camshaft cap...so i took it back as it smoked still..
Now the cap is replaced and the smoke gone..moreless... time to time I can smell abit of burning smell still...I have been told it can be a oil resitude ...going to leave it for a time being... I still think the camshaft cap is not enough..I would personally replace the camshaft seal which is not apparently difficult to do by other a member of other forum. Why the garages always trying to take a shortcut..

Maybe a silly question but it’s not just the aux heater is it, as it gets colder they will be starting up. Sometimes when first starting for the winter they smoke a lot.

Picture 0 show where the light smoke coming from (smells like when the oil drips on hot surface and then evaporate)
Picture 1 show old cap with a leak (It leaks on the hose then it slides on the hose then drip on the manifold and evaporate...that's what I think) Picture 2 show new camshaft cap (no leak but occasionally smell burning oil) I will have to probably buy inspection camera to have a better look on the side of the engine block.
