Timing belt service is coming up so just piling up a list of things that I can do while front end is off. So far I have; timing belt kit, waterpump, radiator, valve cover gaskets and chain tensioner pads... maybe valley gasket and knock sensors (plugs are crumbling away)
Anything else worth doing while at it? ![]() |

The oil cooler pipe is made marginally easier by all that stuff being off, possibly the front crank seal, and the thermostat. Radiator thermo-switch while the radiator is off. You'll need new rubber mounts for the rad.
Genuine only for the thermostat, plus order a seal as it doesn't come with one. Remember to order the o-rings for the gearbox oil cooler lines. Aux belt and tensioners while you're in there. Probably also the fan pulley too as they're always a bit noisy by now. |

crank pulley seal £10 brand new from Audi. if it leaks all of what you are about to replace has to come off.
