Default S8 d3 V10 Engine rubber pipes-hoses?

Hi folks, so I have been tackling the job to replace the engine oil cooler O-ring seals. What a palaver to get to this as the lock carrier, alternator, bracket and SAI system have to be removed to get to the oil cooler… as this job is quite a pain it seems a good idea to replace the various engine cooling system rubber hoses. I contacted Audi Parts and VW UK and both have told me these rubber engine hoses are obsolete. Does anyone know of any aftermarket rubber / silicone hose replacements?

Thanks 👍

Just replaced the oil cooler in my D2, so feel for you doing it on the 5.2 V10.

In terms of the coolant pipes, if you're checking the parts online, make sure you're looking at diagrams that reference PR code 8Z5 (not hot country) or 8Z6 (hot country). There is a 8Z9 (super hot country) that has some additional parts. Attachment 741 shows the feed side of the system. EDIT: (Hover over the attachment to see the filename, and it's the last three digits prior to the file extension).

The return side also has slight variations. Attachment 424 has an additional oil cooler for the transfer box (#44) in the diagram, whereas attachment 452 doesn't have this oil cooler. Unfortunately, these don't have any PR code reference.

In terms of availability, you'd need to search online for all the rubber hoses that you require. I did a quick search on a couple of them and they are available, but the prices vary considerably between sellers. The online parts stores (not eBay) are a pain as they continue to list the parts, even though they've been discontinued and don't have any. I'm not aware of any aftermarket kits for the S8.

You might want to consider contacting forum member 'Spanker' (Dean), as living in Germany, he seems to have better access to more places to purchase from. Considering that you want to replace all the rubber hoses, you would need to do your homework first, by providing Dean with all the part numbers you're looking for.

Part numbers are certainly helpful, as is a VIN—particularly for cars newer than the D2.
