Default Another car stolen

My sisters home was broken into at 6 PM today whilst she was upstairs with my 15 month old nephew. She came downstairs to notice the door was open, odd she thought as she had only come in twenty minutes previously and locked it. She then heard one of our cars outside fire up, the baby started saying 'dadda' so my sister went outside to see why 'dadda' was driving off in the car and didn't even come in after work to say where he was going, she then noticed it wasn't dadda at all but some bas%^rds that drove away at the speed of light in her BMW 535. Now the car I think they had really come for was the S4 but as the keys were in her hand bag hidden away and as the BMW was blocking it on the drive they took that instead. I suspected they were probably going to come back for the S4 but when they saw her come to the door they went of like a shot.
Its really got to me, I went around straight away and have just got back. We've sorted the main stuff, changed the locks (they took house keys) and arranged for the S4 to be parked somewhere secure and out of sight encase they come back for it. Tomorrow I have arranged for it to have a tracker fitted and security tightened up at the house before it returns. CID are coming tomorrow as they class it as a break in. The truth is, the way they came in you would think they had a key. Sister is fine, not shaken up at all but its affected me more then anything as I'm still getting over my S8 being stolen, and now this?

That's crap mate, but at least all concerned are ok. A car is, after all, just nuts and bolts no matter how much we cherish them

i know its a bit late now but i would still say the best thing i ever bought for my car was an anti-hijack imobiliser. wether thay take your keys and drive it away or they just take your car from you in person it allows them to drive away in safety. then a mile or so down the road it cuts the engine and sounds the alarm. thus allowing you to phone for help knowing they are a mile away from you and you are out of danger .

Thoughts are with you and your sister.

Anti hi jacking systems are great. There's one on my mate's B5 RS4. It let's you get in, drive for 15seconds (so they are away from you personally) and then locks the doors, flashes ALL the lights and sets of both a loud alarm outside and a piercing siren inside. It's very effective!

As far as I'm concerned, we should be allowed to have our cars permanently wired to the mains electricity. If a car thief kills himself trying to steal it then justice has been served.

Can you (or any other forum member) recommend a make of immobiliser? And are they a simple DIY fit? Sounds like a worthwhile investment to me

Sorry to hear you've had more bad luck Amar. Glad sis and nephew are ok though.

I wonder if I would get away with having a rattlesnake in a drop down compartment in the headlining. Keep it hungry and if car is stolen press a button and it drops into drivers lap. Or a tazer wired to the steering wheel, or sharks with laser-beams in the window washer bottle or a tribe of ninja death cult dwarfs in the boot.......... or maybe...... THIS!
