Happened to me once, driving on the M11 heading north out of London towards Harlow early one quiet morning, little else on the road going my way.
Lots of cars heading the other way started flashing and honking like mad so I slowed down and was very wary and alert, sticking to the nearside. A car then appeared over a hill in the "fast lane" coming towards me. It did a U-turn just ahead of me and stopped on the hard shoulder. Must have driven a good 2 or 3 miles south from the Harlow junction before realising what they had done! ![]() I left them to it; I imagine the atmosphere inside that car was a bit "brown-trousered" ![]()
