Default Anyone tried bioethanol on their A/S8?

Hi.

Here in Norway we have E85(15% petrol and 85% bioethanol) at the pumps.

Since the price is quite a bit lower and the octane number is somwhere around 112 i have used this both on my earlier Audi RS2 and the Audi S6 i have now.
50/50 of E85 and petrol has done wonders for a Turbocharged Audi and i know several people using pure E85 on their older non-turbo VAG's without any issue.

Fuel consumption of E85 is said to be 30% higher then for regular petrol.(backside)
Not sure if you have this at the pumps in the UK?

Its also perfect for MOT.... Close to no "polution"

http://www.bioperformanceuk.com/bioethanol_pumps.php

this web sight shows you where to buy it in the uk, i did look into this as an alternative to LPG seemly my car will run on it with out a convertion kit, if i fill up 50% petrol in the tank and then fill it with E85 and do this sevral times the ECU will self learn and be able to run on it no problem,

but when i looked into it more i thought that i needed different injectors ? but was never sure and never found out in the end would love to know though ?

I thought you need around twice as much ethanol for the same amount of air so you need bigger injectors. But I have never looked deeper so I could be wrong.

Nothing much to report actually. Worked like a charm so far. Drove it apx 50 miles yesterday both normal and hard and no difference.

Just went out now to se how it was on startup when cold. And it actually runs a bit smoother on idle then before.(if this is just not my imagination)

Regarding MPG i really cant say anything yet. I'm thinking of topping her of with a full tank with a 50/50 micture tonight just to get a feel for the mpg's.
