4 short beeps on start up from rear...?
....new one to me. A couple of times this week on start up (or perhaps going into reverse?) I have heard 4 short beeps from where I would normally hear the parking sensor tones in the rear of the car. These beeps are NOT the same as the sensor's beeps, and the sensors are still working just fine.
What am I hearing? Ta, Zip

By a strange coincidence that has happened to me a few times this week when reversing from start. Its not the same tone as the parking sensors.

Might be a faulty alarm module or possibly a warning that the batteries in the Alarm Siren are on the way out. . . the rechargeable Ni-MH battery is possibly getting old and can no longer hold it's charge and maintain it's voltage under load

David, I think Jim might have had a similar problem with his old 2.8 while it was sitting on his drive for a while before he sold it, cant find the post, but sure he will be along soon to confirm or otherwise

Yep, I did have this with the 2.8. A good run sorted it in that case, but I do think it was the alarm battery

Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).
