Default Most effective place to sell an A8/S8?

It's been a great few years of ownership (and the best car I've ever owned) but in the summer I shall be selling my A8

In people's experience, where is the best place to sell a car like this? Or does it not make any difference?

eBay? Autotrader? Pistonheads? Etc..

Pistonheads followed by ebay classifieds seems to get the biggest market and both are cheaper than Auto Trader, from memory.

I still tend to favour pistonheads and auto trader for browsing, though!

What are you thinking of as a replacement?!

I personally favour Autotrader, it's the first one I turn to if thinking about buying.

My Boxster sold through a forum, but was advertised on all three a few months before, AT had the largest response but none were much good.

SWMBO's previous Mini was on PH and eBay for a month with nothing, bit the bullet and paid extra for AT, sold within 2 days to first viewer.

One of the eBay viewers, well the only one actually, on arrival was surprised to find out that the MINI didn't have much rear legroom (!!!) and then commented that he hadn't realised it was an Automatic - at this point I reminded him it was a MINI, suggested he read the adverts of any other cars he fancied and then sent him on his way.

Before that was my D2 A8 which I only put up here and on eBay, with a broken gearbox, sold for more than I had expected to an eBayer from Poland!

I tried all 3 some time ago and got the best response by far from AT

Had my last D3 on PH and Ebay for weeks with no real interest.. Put it on AT and had a call the next morning and it was away by the weekend.

Looks like Autotrader is the way forward then. I've only sold one car on eBay and it was so much hassle and I was inundated with time wasters, I don't know if I'd do it again. And that was only a £1,000 Fiesta!

I want something a little more economical but still FUN, and something open topped for the summer would be a bonus - so I've got my heart set on a Fiat 500C Abarth with full Esseesse trimmings and tuning. *waits to be banned*

My plan is to attend as many of the Audi events over the summer as one last hoorah then reluctantly sell up around the end of July while the weather is still good.
