Default Electric parking brake fault light

After going shopping this morning, I popped into the local car wash manned by east europeans. The D3 was set upon by at least 5 people, however during the wash the EPB fault light popped up. EPB was not applied at the time, the car was in Park. Pressed the check button on the dash, and Parking brake popped up in the DIS.

Got home, fault still showing. Switched off ignition, then on again, fault now gone. Scared that the EPB had failed I pulled the switch, and the parking brake applied both sides. Pushed the switch and it released fine on both sides, repeated several times and no faults or nothing.

Looks like a glitch in the system, I hope.

Check the connectors on the EPB motors, if it's a little loose, you'll get water in there. It'll be even worse come winter when salt, etc. can get in.

Well its been fine for the last week, no recurring fault despite being used daily and being driven in heavy rain yesterday morning. Keeping fingers crossed, perhaps the pads are worn or similar.

The NSR wheel bearing is being changed soon, so the pads will come off on that side, so I'll know what state they are in.
