I need help finding stylish ventilation grille to the bonnet= Hood Vents.
To cool down my biturbo engine. Or does anyone know if there is a fiberglass bonnet to D2 on the market? I've put the tape on them places where it is not possible to cut holes. (There is also an reinforcement in the middle of the hood front to back, that I forgot to put tape over on the image.) http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1419528015 Here are the best places to mount grilles/ hood vents on: But I want it to look neat and original! I do not want it to look like a teenager has built my car. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1419527800

Rather than cutting vents, how about raising the rear of the bonnet a little?

It does not work.
You have under pressure at the rear edge of the hood, so the air is sucked in there and not out. Additionally, you will then receive all engine fumes and the heat through the ventilation and into the cabin! It might be okay on a drag racing car. But it is not so fun if you run longer than 402 meters.

Maybe something like these two vents will be okay?

How about a custom grill scoop between the two air scoops for the engine?
You could make a plug out of wood and build it up with carbon fibre and finishing resin, not difficult. Or two scoops from the sides of the grill, I'm not sure which part you are trying to cool. The black mamba ones look nice though. Last edited by Goran; 28th December 2014 at 10:39 AM. |
