Default AMI USB Issue

Hello All
I have a 2007 A8 with AMI installed , the car originally came with no cables so i purchased a AMI to USB cable of ebay ,plugged it in and everytime i plug a usb stick in (tried all different format options exfat,fat32 ect) i get the message displayed in the attached photo.

Has anyone seen this issue before , im not sure if it is refering to the AMI operating system or the files on the usb stick.

I think that i may need to run the MMI update and update the AMI software , can you just update the AMI on its own ??

Thanks as allways

Never seen that one... There is an AMI update available from Audi, might be worth putting it on your USB stick and see if it updates itself.

Have you put music files on the stick? Maybe it's confused with being given a blank one.

Tried the AMI_Update_080423.bin but it says its not compatible?

There was music on each USB but just keep getting the same message(usb was blank except for bin file when trying update)

After a quick google.. There's a suggestion that you may need to run through the Update CDs for the MMI system.

What size is your USB stick? Might be that it doesn't like over 32Gb sticks.

Hmm.. Do you have a portable HDD that you could plug in to test?

Mine worked with the iPod and USB HDD straight away.
