Default not a detail but...

Some piccys from todays 'big clean'

OK, I was too embarassed to take befores but I'll set the scene, hadn't been washed in over a month. had covered > 2K miles in that time in all weathers, suffice to say it was disgusting.

procedure was

Spray wheels with cleaner whislst getting all the stuff out

full soaking with teh hose, including the wheels

three bucket wash ( 1 Megs NXT shampoo, 2 clean water, a 1st dip and 2nd dip( I said it was dirty!!!! )

rinse with hose

2nd wash with 2 bucket method

rinse again

Megs Clay bar and Quick detailer for a full over over clay ( Gosh these A8's are sodding big! )

rinse again

dry with about 7 or 8 microfibre cloths. Due to the stunning weather round here today ( 26 degrees!!! ) I ended up soaking one super large towel and wiping each panel down to get rid of dry spots before then drying each one in turn.

then it was down to teh chemicals

start point was the Carlack 68. This stuff stinks!!!!!!! a cros between puke and something else I just can't put my finger on...

panel at a time, wipe on with a damp MF /sponge applicator, polish off with clean MF cloth. I was gob smacked as to how diryt it became just 1 hour after I'd clayed the thing!

All round it was taking shape, teh flake in the paint was lovely, considering it was a sealant I wasn't too impressed with the wet look that sealants normally give.

Then it was Collinte 476. tniy amounts go miles on a foam applicator. I found 2 panels at a time was a good compromise between stop start and not doing too much at one time. One coat looked lovely. Giving it time to cure on I got the VAX out. Ours has this 'turbo' hand attachement witha wizzy brush inside that did a cracking job at lifting the pile on the carpets.

The wood was given a coat of 476 which brought it up lovely!
leather was cleaned and fed all round

Windows were done next all round. Carlack inside and out had a lovely job with shiny galss.

Then i gave it another coat of 476 all over.

I'm impressed with how it looks after this so heres some piccys.

Jobs still to do, I'm not happy with the wheels, even giving them a good scrub with a brush left some large areas of brake dust on the fronts.

tyres need dressing

Piccys from my mobile

Looking nice...

Make sure you take the cat away.. The last thing you want it a permanent barbeque smell in the '8

I love that colour. There was an S8 going around once, in the same colour, with black grill, and black 19" BBS rims.....that was an equally sweet mota

BTW I didn't spot you the other week going up the A1079 between Hull and York did I?
