Jim tried ringing but couldnt hear you, offer still stands, could take you later today or Tues or Wed, but after that would need to be weekend, save you messing about with hire cars etc, let me know what you think

My phone is locked in the car and switched to auto-answer! My specs are in the same place, so I'm wearing Primark reading glasses. To make things more complicated, I'm away Tuesday and Wednesday, have to pick up parents from the airport this evening, seeing friends in Edinburgh on Thursday and have additional guests coming on Friday. And a Christening on Sunday! Just got a quote to have it delivered home and, as my insurance covers it, I think That's what I'll do when it's fixed. But that is a seiously kind offer mate!

Mike locked his keys in his facelift S8 and his recovery company opened the car up 'frighteningly quick' as he put it. What breakdown company are you with Jim?
If the AA couldn't open my car they would have towed it to a garage anywhere in the country/home and give me £500 towards repairs.

It's all covered, but I have breakdown insurance. So there is no specific breakdown company, just a network of garages. Once I've got it all sorted and the claim paid, I'll be making a complaint about the numpty from Newton Stewart.

Having digested, I'm thinking all symptoms could be down to the CL system. I'm sure the radio key is fine, and I imagine the indicators were winking away like a disco to prove the point.... ?
On FL cars it has two outputs - 1) Does the drivers door and fuel flap 2) Does the other doors and boot Its so that you can enable the secure 'double unlock' feature so central locking only opens the drivers door on one blip, and the rest on two. Stops people jumping in your passenger seat to mug you when open the car coming back from the shops etc. If you have a leak in one pipe, and you have single unlocking enabled, maybe the leak in one pipe, would cause a loss of pressure across both. Thus, unplugging one pipe and plugging up the hole (with a finger I imagine) would send pressure down the one working pipe and would work. The boot is 100% mechanical I think, no deadocks, where on facelift, you have deadlocks on the doors, so once locked with air, the key will not unlock it no matter how much you mess with it. Sounds like a simple (but annoying) case of leaky air line.....

There were no indicators flashing at all and the key has had to be reprogrammed. I've sent the other key down for the same treatment and waiting to see if it's arrived yet. Then goung to book a transporter to bring it back home
