Shocking the way the job's been done though... I'd definitely be looking to have a report from Unit 20 on the repairs they had to make on the repairs and write to Audi head office on it.

Fundamental bits not coded in or working properly, bits not replaced properly, makes you wonder what else they may have done wrong.

W12s do fail, there are quite a few documented failures, particularly in Phaetons which may just be because they got the engine a little earlier.

As Ian says, the warranty would have expired when the car was sold as it wasn't a 'paid for' part. Very frustrating when a part that's only a couple of months old fails outside of the original warranty.

Quite possible if the car belonged to dealer owner he instructed his workshop to do the bare minimum, knowing he would be getting rid, and pocketed the cash difference toward the next motor?

I'm sure if Audi uk authorised warranty repair it would include recharging the air-con etc?!

there are pictures in the gallery but as for the engine as martin said from unit 20 the intake manifold and all ancillerys are going to be the same parts as what came out of the factory the new engine would be just a crate engine ie block heads and sump ect they more than likely transferred everything over onto the new engine there fore i had no idea as to the fact that its new because of the intake manifold being transferred over and it dominates the engine and can not really see the new part untill your under the car

but i will have a look tomorrow and see if i can get a picture of something for you to look at

Makes you wonder whether the original engine was actually serviced at all? With a stamp at his disposal?

Regardless...what a result with the new motor though! Well chuffed for you
