You HAVE to love your kids, however they do like to test the theory....
Just spent the past hour dismantling one of my Monitor Audio RS6 floorstanders after my wife spotted our son inserting plastic cutlery into the port on the back of the speaker (right at the top)
After removing the port funnel so I could see what was going on (a bit) it soon became clear there was more to find - especially after 1 of 2 items balancing on the edge dropped down! Ended up removing the front port and 2 out of 3 of the drive units (couldn't get the tweeter out) and fishing stuff out of the bottom as it fell down. Unfortunately there's another hole through into a void at the bottom of the speaker so I'm not entirely convinced I've got all of it, but if it's down there it can't do any harm except vibrating and I suspect this won't be the only time I have to take it apart..... To think I bought these as they were safer than the spiked stand mounts I had before when babies decide to pull themselves up on the stands

The other way is to buy some electrostatics - my quads ESl 57 have some 6400V running around behind the mesh. I wouldnt go sticking forks through it if it were me.
A harsh lesson perhaps, but one not forgotten.

LOL - I like that idea! I suspect the old pair of tights stretched over the port from the inside will keep objects out of the internals whilst not looking horrid or making it obvious to sprog that his fun has been curtailed will do the job!
