Default McLaren 650S at a £5 hand car wash

Spend £200,000 on your supercar then take it to the £5 a time hand car wash

Saw it near Woking while working there the other day. 'MCL 1' is McLaren's plate so more than likely a press car and the journalist returning it clean!

Somebody should be sacked for that, I'd email that photo to McLaren HQ

I have been guilty of the same sin over the last year with the 8, she lives outside day to day, been subjected to the 5 quid splash and dash more times than I care to remember, paints been jetted off the gutter trim as a result and to add insult to injury I dropped a piece of wood on the back bumper taking the paint off.

Hopefully after winter passes I will get the paintwork sorted and start treating her like a princess again instead of a whore.

I'll only ever put mine through a £5 wash these days if I take it to the single wash shop in Manchester that I trust, and they have clear instructions on how to do it, are provided with the woollen mitt provided by me, and are watched by me whilst they're doing it.

And I'll only do that in exceptional circumstances - otherwise the cost of the annual detail is a bit of a waste of money...
